It suppresses the 'pop' noise that can be picked up through the microphone. The screen is made from a 6.3 inch round plastic frame that is covered with a black gauze on both sides. It is mounted onto a single metal shaft with a quick release mechanism. Mounts directly onto a stand. A must have in any studio.Â
