On-camera Microphone Adapter with Power Converter
The Rode VXLR Pro lets you connect an on-camera microphone to a device with an XLR input. This low-profile adapter features a male XLR connector for plugging into a mixer or interface. Internally, it has a transformer to balance the signal for long cable runs. There’s also a built-in power converter that reduces 12–48-volt phantom power to 4-volt plug-in power by the time it reaches the 3.5mm TRS female connector. Ragtime is pleased to report that the VXLR Pro also comes with a locking connector to prevent users from accidentally unplugging a cable.rn
